Portugal: Finally An Update!!

So we were pretty busy this past week travelling throughout Portugal, and weren´t able to post any pictures or updates so sorry about that. Now that we finally made it into Spain, more specifically, Sevilla, I think its a good time to let you know what exactly we did in Portugal.

The first full day we had in Lisbon we went over to Sintra, a really nice town about 30 minutes outside of Lisbon. We took a bus up a huge hill to get to a Moorish Castle with an amazing 360 degree view of the area, and then hiked down the hill on a really nice trail. Then we went to, and got stuck in, Azenhas Do Mar, a town we saw on the map that ended up being beautiful, but not really set up for tourists. After two hours or so of waiting for a bus we finally made it back to Lisbon and met Marc.

The next day we went north a little to Nazare and Obidos, two towns that couldnt have been more different, but equally as beautiful. Nazare was a small and relaxing beach town with a great beach, and Obidos was a walled town with a total population of 600 with great views and shots of some unknown alcohol in chocolate shot glasses.

The next day we went down south to Lagos, a city a little too Americanized, or actually, Australianized, for my taste. It was a great little town with really nice beaches (we considered sleeping on them for a couple of minutes), but our hostel, and the entire town, was overflowing with Australians and every type of english speakers you could imagine. We met an Australian street performer and became part of his crew for a few minutes; Marc played the paint can drums and I juggled. Sadly though, the only money we made was what we put into his can.

So thats it so far, now we´re in Sevilla, a really almost too perfect looking city in Southern Spain. It has a great atmosphere and great little restaurants in every little alley and park we pass. Tonight is the championship game for the Euro Cup, in which Spain is playing, so hopefully we´ll get a victory and see what this town is really like.

Tomorrow we are going to Tarifa, which Mitch says is the windiest place in the world. I dont know if thats true, but it is supposed to be the world hub for Wind and Kite Surfing. Its also only a 30 minute boat ride from Morocco, where we will be heading after that. I´m sure we´ll have lots of interesting stories to tell you about that.

Hope everything at home is going well, and keep the comments coming. We´re getting them even if you guys are seeing them immediately, we have to approve them before they show up on the site (thats pretty much just for my mom and Julene).

We´ll try and get some pictures up pretty soon, and give you a better glimpse into our trip.

Did you drink the alcoholic drink and was the chocolate edible? Was the liquor licorice tasting like oozo?

This is great to know what your doing. Are you taking a lot of picture?
